Sardinia Wine SNC di Daniele Pintus was founded in 2012; The vineyards they oversee are located in various areas of Sardinia with the main vineyard being on the south of the island, in Sulcis.
Daniele Pintus' philosophy in winemaking is that science and technology must serve nature, and not the other way around. In fact, if the wines do not reach the required quality standards, they are not bottled.
Sardinia Wine’s focus is on maintaining low intervention practices and simplicity, which transpires to their minimalist graphic labels and ultimately, the wine you will enjoy in your glass.
The goal is to produce wines that are genuine, generous and convey the story of wine production in Sardinia.
Wine SNC di Daniele Pintus produces their Vermentino from a hand-tended small plot vineyard following biodynamic farming practices. The soils are mainly comprised of clay with some limestone and sand. Once grapes are harvested, they are brought to the winery where a short maceration and fermentation is conducted at a controlled temperature of 16°-17° C. The wine is then aged on its lees in stainless steel tanks before it is bottled, further aged, and then released to market. The goal is to produce a wine full of its natural fruit quality and optimal freshness.
This Vermentino di Sardina is dry, with a distinct rich texture and phenolic bitterness. The wine offers notes of ripe pear, white peach, lime and pink grapefruit. There is a saline quality to the wine with underlying notes of white pepper and fennel seed.
Drink now to cellar for 2-3 years.
Enjoy with richer styles of fish such as halibut, chicken or fish tacos, fennel-spiced pork sausages, or clams in fresh pasta.
