Description: ‘Nonni’ is named in honour of the winemaker’s great grandfathers, Pedro Angulo & Angel Innocenti, who were both vintners.   Located in La Consulta, Uco Valley, the climate hosts cool sunny days turning into cool mountain nights. The sauvignon blanc grapes for ‘Nonni’ are planted to the double guyot trellising system on sandy soils containing round, calcareous rocks.   The grapes are hand harvested and brought to winery where the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at 16°C using indigenous yeasts.  Alcoholic fermentation then takes place over the course of 18 days with no malolactic fermentation or oak aging.
Taste: A fresh style of Sauvignon Blanc that is dry, medium bodied, with lively acidity. The fruit shows tart and ripe grapefruit with lemon zest, cape gooseberry and white peach. The palate hosts savoury herbs such as tarragon, chervil and chive with an underlying crushed rock minerality. The length is long and has a refreshing finish.
Cellaring Potential: Drink now or cellar for 4+ years
Food Matching: Great as an aperitif or pair with fried zucchini, asparagus risotto, grilled pork with pesto and soft cheeses.
