Fattoria di San Quintino is situated half way between Florence and Pisa and have been a prominent leader since 1967 in creating distinctive and flavourful wines from Tuscany. Proud owners of over 18 hectares of vineyards, the team shows unwavering commitment to upholding key farming methods to produce artisanal wines that show a strong sense of place.
‘Quinto' is named in honour of the winery's San Quentin hill; the wine is produced from 100% Merlot from the Meoni’s vineyard in San Miniato. The vineyards are planted at 200 m above sea level, vines are trained spurred cordon trellising systems and are harvested by hand once phenolic maturation is reached. At the winery, alcoholic fermentation occurs at controlled temperatures between 20- 30 °c. The wine is then transferred to french oak barriques where it is aged for 12 months.
