Description: Henri Collin and Louis Bourisset joined forces at the beginning of the 20th century; both are considered to be pioneers in the wine industry and have a rich history with the beloved property Hospices de Romanèche-Thorins.  After 193 years at the historic Crêches-sur-Saône property, 2014 saw great change for Collin-Bourisset as they partnered with Maison Jean Loron.

The philosophy of Maison Collin-Bourisset has always been to produce the best wines that Beaujolais and Burgundy have to offer.  This partnership brought to life great synergies and an opportunity for Collin-Bourisset to be in closer proximity to the vines.

Located in the village of Fleurie, the gamay vines are planted to clay and sand soils on a granite base.  Harvest is completed by hand, with careful selection of grapes.  Whole bunches are placed in fermentation tanks without crushing or destemming; alcoholic fermentation then occurs for a period of 8 to 12 days under controlled temperatures.  The wine is bottled after 8-10 months of aging to preserve fresh fruit aromas.
Taste: This brilliant expression of gamay is dry, medium bodied, with refreshing acidity. It is filled with tart and ripe black fruit; black currants, black berry and black cherry. The wine has a violet petal forality with underlying notes of fresh turned earth and black pepper spice. The structure is soft, plush and finishes with nicely integrated tannins.
Cellaring Potential: drink now or cellar for 5+ years
Food Matching: Perfectly paired with chicken or pork, grilled vegetables or with soft cheeses such as Chateau du Bourgogne.
