The 2014 vintage had a mild winter which caused some withering in the vineyards, followed by warm start to spring caused early sprouting in the vineyards by about 10 days. The summer was cool and dry, fostered a good growth cycle and optimal ripening. This ideal vintage without setbacks increased the quantity of wine produced substantially across the region. The wines have great colour intensity, fruit concentration and elevated tannin and balance. Showing great potential to produce great ideal for ageing.
‘Adalid’ is made of 100% Tempranillo grapes from the vineyard La Nava. This wine was fermented at a temperature of 18-25ºC and aged for 10 months in French oak and 6 months in American oak barrels. After bottling, the wine was further aged in bottle for 20 months before it was released.
