Some years after acquiring our land, planting vineyards and tending to harvests of NINFA we acquired a neighbour’s mature vineyard containing old vines of red and white varieties that gave us the opportunity to create a traditional, ‘Old-Vines’ field blend.
Castelao, Trincadeira, Norte de Agua, some hybrids and white varieties were hand harvested, foot trodden and fermented together in open lagares using natural yeasts. Aside from the minimal addition of sulfur dioxide this wine exemplifies our region’s traditional, minimum intervention style of production.
