The village of Verduno undeniably produces some of the most refined and approachable expressions of the Barolo. Verduno is home one of the most celebrated vineyards of the whole appellation, Monvigliero.
The vineyard is south-facing and situated at 280 M elevation where the soil is Marne di Sant’Agata (sand, clay, and limestone). The shape of the vineyard is unique and reminiscent of an amphitheatre. The quality, aspect, altitude and soil type of the vineyard yield a wine containing all the power and finesse we come to expect from world- class Barolo.
At the winery, a 35 day maceration and fermentation in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts; all while closely monitoring temperature. The wine is then aged for 32 months in large Slavonian botti. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration and is further aged for 6 months minimum in bottle before it is released.
the 2016 vintage produced wines of excellent quality across the Piedmont region; with ripeness levels matching that of 2015 but with firmer tannins and elevated acidity. These wines are perfectly complex and balanced.
