Description: Situated in the renowned Côte des Blancs sub-region of Champagne, which takes its name from the colour of the most predominantly plated grape: Chardonnay. Côte des Blancs is comprised of 6 villages that are classified as Grand Cru: Oger is amongst the 6, and is where you can find Chapuy’s champagne production.

In Oger, the climate is cool with moderate sunshine and vineyards are situated on chalky soil (which was once an ancient sea bed). The soils composition contains millions of fossilized creatures which is very unique and translates to the glass.

Once harvest is complete and the most exceptional grapes are selected, primary fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and the wine undergoes a light filtration. The wines are then blended and bottled to carry out secondary fermentation; 6 to 8 months after harvest. The wine is left in bottle to mature on its fine lee for 2 to three years. Once riddling, disgorging and dosage is completed; it is aged for a further 3 to 6 months prior to being released to market.

Taste: A compelling Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) showcasing the quality of Oger. The nose is filled with ripe red apple, Meyer lemon with complementary notes of almond peel and brioche. The palate invites a savoury note of saltine cracker, an oyster shell minerality, and a beautiful sour cream lactic quality. The wine is dry, medium bodied, with a length that lingers and finishes vibrant and fresh.
Cellaring Potential: Drink now or age 10+ years
Food Matching: The perfect aperitif, enjoy with raw fish or shellfish, pan-seared scallops, or roasted chicken with vegetables.
