Amarone della Valpolicella Musella
Musella has its cellar and offices in a rural court of 1500 surrounded by green meadows bathed by the Fibbio stream, which was formerly used as a stable of the noble palace of the Estate. Today, in keeping with tradition and after a careful conservation restoration, it has been transformed into the cellar equipped with all the latest technologies. Each wine comes exclusively from this Estate that covers almost 400 hectares and that also offers a considerable differentiation in the composition of the soil, quality that allows us exciting comparisons.
At the winery, the cultivated grapes are arranged in a ventilated room to be dried. Through this process, grapes lose up to 35% of their original weight; this concentrates sugars, aromatics and tannins. Gentle pressing takes place in January at a very low temperature followed by an extended maceration. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak tonneau and then in larger barrels. After bottling, the wine is further aged for at 8 months prior to being released to market. The shorter aging helps this wine retain a freshness and softer fruit notes.
